1. Overview

PayoffEdge (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website payoffedge.com and the PayoffEdge application. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PayoffEdge you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Debt and financial data. We collect the debt balances, interest rates, minimum payments, and income figures you enter. This data is used solely to generate your personalized payoff plan and coaching responses.
• Payment information.We use Stripe to process payments. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe provides us with a customer ID and subscription status only. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
• Usage data. We collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) to monitor performance and detect abuse.
• AI interaction data.Messages you send to the AI coach are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. These messages may contain the financial data you have entered. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To generate and display your AI debt payoff plan.
• To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, weekly progress reports if you opt in).
• To improve the product through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your financial data for advertising.

4. Data Processors

We share your data with third-party services only as necessary to operate PayoffEdge:

• Supabase— hosts our database and authentication system. Your account credentials and debt data are stored on Supabase's infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
• Stripe — processes all payments and stores your billing details. See stripe.com/privacy.
• Anthropic— powers the AI coach. Your debt data and chat messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. See anthropic.com/privacy.
• Vercel — hosts the PayoffEdge web application and processes web requests. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and debt data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Stripe retains billing records as required by financial regulations.

6. Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit and rely on Supabase's row-level security to ensure each user can only access their own data. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. No security measure is perfect; if you discover a vulnerability please contact us at support@payoffedge.com.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@payoffedge.com. We will respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account directly from within the app.

8. Cookies

We use only functional cookies necessary for authentication (session token stored in an HTTP-only cookie). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children

PayoffEdge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
